UCLA appointed a new associate vice chancellor for housing and hospitality, Administrative Vice Chancellor Michael Beck announced Monday.

Sarah Dundish, the director of administration and chief of staff for UCLA Housing and Hospitality, will assume the position Wednesday, Beck said in an email sent to staff.

“Her deep experience, institutional knowledge and demonstrated leadership make her uniquely prepared to guide Housing & Hospitality through its next chapter,” he said in the email.

The department manages UCLA’s student housing, dining services, university apartments, hotels and conference facilities. Housing and Hospitality employs more than 2,600 people and serves more than 25,000 students, faculty, staff and guests, according to UCLA administration’s website.

Dundish will succeed Pete Angelis, who retired in June after leading Housing & Hospitality for nearly two decades.

Dundish – a UCLA alumnus – will take on the role ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. UCLA’s residential and dining facilities will serve as the Olympic Village for the games. About 78% of campus housing will be used to house athletes from mid-June to mid-September 2028, according to the UCLA Student Affairs website.

She began working at UCLA Housing as an undergraduate student and joined the department full time after graduating with a history degree in 2005. Dundish rose from assistant manager to director of housing services before becoming the director of administration and chief of staff in 2019, Beck said in the email.

“I am confident Sarah will continue to build on Housing & Hospitality’s strong foundation and advance its mission in service to UCLA,” Beck said in the email.
