After four Bruins were selected on the first day of the 2026 MLB Draft, six more Bruins were selected on the second and final day – which consisted of rounds five through 20.

Right-hander Cal Randall, outfielder Will Gasparino, outfielder Dean West, catcher Cashel Dugger, right-hander Michael Barnett and right-hander Justin Lee were all selected by MLB clubs Sunday.

Cal Randall: St. Louis Cardinals

Randall heard his name called at No. 146 in the fifth round by the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-hander worked exclusively out of the bullpen during his UCLA career, tossing 63 innings over three seasons.

Posting a 3.43 ERA and a 5.4 BB/9 over his career, the Discovery Bay, California, local also had a 13.9 K/9 during the same period – including a 16.5 K/9 this past season.

The 6-foot-4 hurler relied heavily upon a fastball that reached triple digits and was delivered with good extension and a low release point. Though he also showed a hard slider, he chose the fastball 89% of the time during his outings this past spring.

Dean West: Toronto Blue Jays

At pick No. 222 in the seventh round, the Toronto Blue Jays selected West. As the Bruins’ mainstay left fielder throughout the past two seasons, the Woodland Hills, California, local was an adept on-base machine at the top of the Bruins’ order.

While his numbers dipped this season after a sophomore campaign where he slashed .320/.470/.425, West has consistently shown a penchant for controlling the strike zone during his college career. Standing at 5-foot-10, West has accumulated more walks than strikeouts in each of his collegiate seasons – most notably walking 49 times and striking out just 29 times as a sophomore.

Cashel Dugger: Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals selected Dugger in the ninth round with the No. 256 pick. After playing part time as a freshman, Dugger captured the starting catcher role as a sophomore and never relinquished it.

Dugger hit .251 and his OPS stood at .760 – both marks standing as the lowest among qualified UCLA hitters last season – but behind the plate, he allowed just eight stolen bases on 16 attempts last season while also showcasing receiving and blocking abilities.

The Castle Pines, Colorado, local was also a 2026 Buster Posey Award semifinalist and was voted to the All-Big Ten second team this past season.

Michael Barnett: Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins selected Barnett in the 20th round with the No. 587 pick. Though his fastball sat in the high 80s, the right-hander managed to carve out a sizable role in each of his four seasons pitching for the Bruins.

The 6-foot-4 Lafayette, California, local started 53 games for the Bruins across his career and led the squad in innings pitched in each of the past two seasons despite his ever-shifting role on the staff, posting an ERA of 4.07 during that period.

Justin Lee: Philadelphia Phillies

At No. 609 in the 20th round, the Philadelphia Phillies selected Lee. Lee worked exclusively out of the bullpen throughout his UCLA tenure.

Lee got off to a rough start with the Bruins. The Los Angeles local posted a 7.19 ERA over 71.1 innings of work in his first two years with the squad. He had a propensity for allowing free passes, as he hit 16 batters and posted a walk rate of 6.8 BB/9 over the two seasons.

The 6-foot-3 hurler saw more success in a smaller role this past season – dropping his ERA to 3.26, increasing his K/9 to 12.1 and decreasing his BB/9 to 5.1. His fastball hit triple digits in 2026, paired with a splitter, a curveball and a slider.
