UCPD recorded 576 unique entries in its March 1 to March 31 daily crime log.
University police received 111 crime reports from March 1 to March 31 that resulted in active police cases. Of the 111 crime reports resulting in cases, 54 were open cases and 57 were closed or inactive as of April 4, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.
Theft and burglary was the most common category, with 53 reports resulting in cases, followed by 13 reports involving drugs or controlled substances, according to the log.
UCPD also recorded 465 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of April 4:

Information only: 34
Non-criminal matter: 111
Warned or advised: 19
Canceled (by any party): 46
Victim not desirous of report: 30
Referred to outside agency: 33
Unable to locate: 21

Unfounded: 1
Of the 465 incidents not resulting in cases, six were categorized as sex crimes. UCPD categorized two as rape reports, two as sexual battery reports and two as indecent exposure reports.
Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
