Three members of UCLA men’s soccer were selected in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday.

Junior defender Tre Wright was drafted 33rd overall by Real Salt Lake, graduate student defender Schinieder Mimy was drafted 38th by the New England Revolution and senior midfielder Tarun Karumanchi was drafted 49th by the Columbus Crew.

Graduate students goalkeeper Kevin Box and defender Drew Brown, as well as sophomore forward Artem Vovk – the three other eligible Bruins – went unselected across the three-round draft.

Wright and Karumanchi – who both spent their entire collegiate careers in Westwood – played in every game last season, with the latter being one of two Bruins to start every contest. Mimy played in the last 14 contests of the 2025 campaign and started in 11, after missing the first five games because of injury.

En route to the program’s first Big Ten tournament title this fall, Mimy and Wright shutout then-No. 1 Maryland and No. 3 seed Michigan in the semifinal and final, respectively, as integral members of UCLA’s backline.

Wright’s contributions, both on and off the field, earned him the 2025 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

He logged three assists across the 2025 campaign – two of which came in a Nov. 1 win over Omaha – and helped UCLA record five clean sheets, four of which came against ranked opponents.

After transferring from Oral Roberts, where he made 33 starts in 34 matches across three seasons, Mimy used his final year of eligibility to score one goal and log four assists as a Bruin.

Karumanchi – a captain and the sole senior on UCLA’s 2025 roster – recorded a team-high 1,699 minutes this past season, playing the entire 90 minutes in all but three matches.

He recorded one assist and three shots across the campaign to close out his collegiate career with a total of 4,904 minutes played while donned in blue and gold.

Maryland and reigning national champions Washington led the Big Ten in draftees with four and five, respectively.

UCLA’s sole All-American redshirt sophomore forward Sergi Solans Ormo was ineligible for this year’s SuperDraft, as he was drafted in 2024 by Real Salt Lake.

Although he never penned a contract with the Utah team, Real Salt Lake retains his signing rights until Dec. 31 of this year.
