UCPD recorded 644 unique entries in its April daily crime log.

University police received 160 crime reports from April 1 to 30 that resulted in active police cases. Of the 160 crime reports resulting in cases, 80 were open cases and 80 were closed or inactive as of May 5, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.

Theft and burglary was the most common category, with 63 reports resulting in cases, followed by 27 reports of drug and controlled substance, according to the log.

UCPD also recorded 484 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of May 5:

Warned or advised: 21

Canceled (by any party): 61

Of the 484 incidents not resulting in cases, six were categorized as rape or another sex crime. UCPD categorized zero events as rape reports, one as sexual battery reports and five as indecent exposure reports.

Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
