Demonstrators from ASFCME Local 3299 marched in both the street and in the road at the intersection of Charles E Young Drive and Strathmore Drive, chanting, “UC, UC, you’re no good, treat your workers like you should,” and “No justice, no peace; no contracts, no peace; no housing, no peace.” Union leaders such as Gabriella Romo walked up and down the picket line, coordinating with UC security, blocking traffic when members crossed roads and reminding picketers to be aware of their surroundings.
