UCPD is searching for a suspect involved in an on-campus sexual battery Sunday night.
According to the crime alert sent Monday morning, the suspect arrived at Cypress Court in Weyburn Terrace around 10:15 p.m. to deliver food to the victim. The suspect touched the victim against their will, then drove away.
The victim was a UCLA student, according to the alert.
The suspect was a man around 50-60 years old with a short build, grey hair and a full beard, according to the alert. He wore a dark zip-up sweatshirt and cream-colored pants.
UCPD is searching for a dark-colored sedan in relation to the incident. No injuries were reported as related to the incident.
The incident did not occur inside the victim’s home, said Jeffrey Chobanian, acting captain of UCPD’s administrative bureau. UCPD urges people to always check license plate numbers when using rideshare and accepting food deliveries, Chobanian said.
He added that UCPD proactively patrols the community and analyzes crime trends to solve and prevent crimes.
This incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
