The Los Angeles Public Library will not hold those impacted by the fires responsible for the loss of items as a result of evacuation or fire damage, according to a 6:27 p.m. email to library users. The library system remains open, with specific location hours and closures listed on its website – which also contains a compilation of emergency resources.

Donations are currently being accepted by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles to rebuild the Palisades Branch Library, which was destroyed in the Palisades fire. According to the foundation’s website, the funds will be used to provide community-based services including assistance with applications for emergency relief, access to Wi-Fi hotspots and computers, and the branch’s educational efforts.
