UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk announced classes will move in-person Tuesday, after having spent week two online.

UCLA schools, including the Geffen Academy, UCLA Lab School and university owned Early Care and Education Programs, are open, Frenk said in a Thursday campuswide email. UCLA Extension will also restart in-person learning Tuesday, with the Gayley Resource Center being open for students who need assistance, he said.

“A red flag warning has been lifted for L.A. County, including the areas adjacent to the UCLA campus. “That means that the fire risk to Westwood has lessened.”

Frenk said in a Friday video message that he has learned a lot during the first two weeks of his tenure as chancellor and appreciates the kindness Bruins have shown amid the fires.

“I speak for every Bruin when I say thank you to the first responders for getting us here,” he said. “They are out on the front lines risking their lives and keeping us safe.”
