Concerns about air quality remain in place across Los Angeles.
Free N95 face masks are being distributed at public libraries, senior centers and recreation centers across LA, according to a 5:32 p.m. press release from Unified LA. People are recommended to wear masks if they smell smoke, see ash particles or know there is poor air quality near them.
Free masks are being distributed to the campus community at UCLA Housing front desks and the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center, said UCLA spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez in an emailed statement. As of 6:45 p.m. Monday, the air quality on campus is rated as “good” and has been for at least 24 hours, according to UCLA’s air quality website.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District has extended an LA dust advisory until noon Tuesday and prohibited residential burning until 11:59 p.m. Monday, according to the Unified LA press release.
A Particularly Dangerous Situation warning from the National Weather Service remains in place in parts of Los Angeles until at least noon Wednesday, Unified LA said in the press release. However, as of 6:45 p.m. Monday, there are no evacuation warnings or orders in place for the UCLA campus.
