The Palisades fire, which is closest to UCLA, continues to burn with a size of 23,713 acres and is 13% contained, according to the Cal Fire website. Although air quality on campus is currently rated as “good,” the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued a smoke advisory until at least 10 p.m. Sunday.

As of 6:25 p.m. Sunday, there is no evacuation warning or order covering the UCLA campus. However, instruction will be remote through Jan. 17, UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk said in a Saturday campus wide email.

Students remaining in Westwood should be prepared to evacuate if an order is issued, two senior campus administrators said in an email to students. If an evacuation is ordered, all students will receive transportation if they report to Pauley Pavilion or Tipuana Apartments with an easily carried bag, they said.

In the event of an evacuation, UCLA will provide free off-site shelter, food, supplies and Wi-Fi to students and employees who need housing, according to the UCLA newsroom website. Staff members displaced by the ongoing fires across Los Angeles County can also access emergency housing, the website said.
