The Palisades fire, which is closest to UCLA, continues to burn and has a size of 23,654 acres, according to an 11:40 p.m. press release Saturday from UnifiedLA. An air quality relief center has been set up at the Alpine Recreation Center, the press release said.
“Smoke from the fires has affected Los Angeles County, creating unhealthy air,” the press release read. “If you are in or near affected areas, limit your time outdoors, avoid rigorous physical activity, keep windows and doors closed, run air purifiers, minimize sources of indoor air pollution such as candles, incense and more.”
Multiple drop-off locations for donations remain active, according to the press release.
The UCLA campus has not received an evacuation warning or notice as of midnight Sunday. However, evacuation orders have been issued less than a mile away from the campus perimeter, and two vice chancellors said in an email to students that it is likely an evacuation warning may be issued.
