The City of Los Angeles is working to get resources to emergency services, Mayor Karen Bass said at a 9 a.m. press conference. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is reimbursing 100% of costs associated with the emergency response, Bass said.

Emergency services are also receiving mutual aid from across the country, Bass said.

“If (Los Angeles Police Department) Chief McDonnell calls me and tells me this is what he needs, if (Los Angeles Fire Department) Chief Crowley calls me and tells me this is what we need, then that’s what we’ll do,” she said.

Bass also said although she has received support from the Biden administration, she has not yet heard from the incoming Trump administration – which will take office in nine days – about support for firefighting efforts. However, Bass said she is communicating with Republicans she knew from her time in congress.
