Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said a press conference 9 a.m. Saturday that city leadership is focused on fighting the fires. There will be a full evaluation of the fire response after the fires have been fought, she said.

The Daily Mail reported Friday that Bass was set to fire Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley. However, Mayor Bass’ office denied the claim and Crowley remains in post as of 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

“The fire chief and I are focused on fighting these fires and saving lives, and any differences that we might have will be worked out in private,” Bass said. “Right now, our first and most important obligation to Angelenos is to get through this crisis.”
