Air quality appears to have improved significantly in Westwood overnight, with readings as of 11:35 a.m. showing the quality as “moderate”, according to the UCLA Air Quality website. The designation means people in unusually sensitive groups may feel the impacts of poor air quality.

Chancellor Julio Frenk cancelled in-person instruction for Thursday and Friday, but the academic senate is yet to announce a decision for instruction next week. There is no evacuation warning or order in place for Westwood or the UCLA campus as of 11:35 a.m. Friday, according to the Cal Fire website.
