Alissa Park, the Ronald and Valerie Sugar Dean at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, sent an early morning email to the school’s community expressing support for students and faculty impacted by the Los Angeles fires.
In the 4:44 a.m. email, Park said Associate Dean of Student Affairs Richard Wesel, Assistant Dean and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Goldman will provide updates to faculty, department chairs and unit heads so that students may receive the most up-to-date information.
Chancellor Julio Frenk announced Wednesday evening that classes will not happen in-person for the remainder of the week. The UCLA Academic Senate is still to make a decision on classes for next week.
