As of 7:42 a.m. Thursday, a large number of students have left campus and the Westwood area, with many saying they intend to stay with relatives elsewhere in Los Angeles County.
However, no formal evacuation warning has been given by the university, and the campus remains outside the evacuation zones set up by Cal Fire.
Winward was the 2025-2026 editor in chief and sat ex officio on the editorial board. He was previously the 2024-2025 News editor and the 2023-2024 features and student life editor. He was also an Arts, Copy, Online, Photo, PRIME and Sports contributor. Winward was a fourth-year English and statistics and data science student.
