As of 3:41 p.m. Wednesday, the Westwood Recreation Center has seen a total of 94 registered guests and five pets since opening as a shelter at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, said Mimi Teller, the Development Communications Manager with the American Red Cross for the Los Angeles Region. The center is accepting food and clothing donations but is in most need of monetary donations in order to rehouse and help clients, she added.
