As of 8:30 a.m., the fire is still covering an area of around 3,000 acres in an area including the Pacific Palisades, Malibu and surrounding areas, said Robert Luna, Los Angeles County Sheriff. The fire evacuation area does not include Westwood, and Westwood Recreation Center is a designated evacuation center.
