Los Angeles Dodgers manager and UCLA baseball alumnus Dave Roberts will be honored at tonight’s rivalry game between UCLA football and USC.

Roberts, of course, most recently led the Dodgers to their eighth World Series title – defeating the New York Yankees in five games during the 2024 World Series.

UCLA’s all-time stolen base record holder, Roberts played at UCLA for four seasons before an eventual 10-year career as an MLB player.

Nine years ago today, Roberts was named manager of the Dodgers – the first Black and Asian American leader in the franchise’s history.
