Jennifer Palomino, a member of the commissary team for UCLA who makes food for the dining halls and other locations, said she believes that withholding labor is the only way to show the UC it needs to pay fair wages.
“They always have the same answer for everything. ‘We don’t have money, we don’t have funds.’ Yet, they’re raising tuition,” she said. “They’re raising insurance costs, parking permits – everything’s going up except our wages.”

She was previously the 2025-26 People, culture and community director, the 2024-25 internal Outreach director and a 2023-24 assistant Sports editor on the men’s soccer, swim and dive, women’s water polo and softball beats. Keller is a graduate student in transformative coaching and leadership from San Jose and was previously a communication and sociology student with a minor in LGBTQ studies.
