SANTA MONICA – Around 150 people, many of them AFSCME Local 3299 members, are picketing around the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, ringing cowbells and blasting sirens from megaphones. Contracts for patient care workers under the union expired July 31, and a new contract has yet to be negotiated.
