In a written statement, Faculty for Justice in Palestine at UCLA spokesperson Graeme Blair said the four people were arrested after the on-campus rally ended, and he called for them to be released.
“We demand UCPD releases them without a citation immediately,” he said in the statement.
Winward was the 2025-2026 editor in chief and sat ex officio on the editorial board. He was previously the 2024-2025 News editor and the 2023-2024 features and student life editor. He was also an Arts, Copy, Online, Photo, PRIME and Sports contributor. Winward was a fourth-year English and statistics and data science student.
