Christopher Spinelli, an attendee at Bruin Democrats’ election night watch party at Royce Hall, said he has become more nervous throughout the evening. The third-year art student said he may have underestimated the accuracy of gridlock predictions.

“Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I’ve been hearing a lot of people talk about how many of the polls seem to be closer than what people on the ground are seeing, which maybe is still true, but it’s not clear right now,” Spinelli said. “It could just be the way that the vote counting works, but it’s not fully what I was hoping to see tonight.”
