Ryan Landayan, a third-year applied math and atmospheric and oceanic sciences student, said rights are at stake in this election.

“I am a gay man, and I am afraid that my rights are on the line,” he said. “Our generation stands for a lot of great things, and it’s important that we get out there and get our voices heard.”

Landayan, originally from New York, said he faced difficulties receiving his ballot in the mail so instead registered at Ackerman Union – a process he said was easy.
