Ackerman Union, Kerckhoff Hall closed due to power outage

Ackerman Union and Kerckhoff Hall closed Friday morning due to a power outage.
ASUCLA announced the closure of both buildings in an Instagram story post Friday morning. Kerckhoff Hall, located east of Ackerman Union, hosts offices that include those of the Undergraduate Students Association Council and UCLA Student Media – including the Daily Bruin. The building also contains student centers such as the Transfer Student Center and Black Bruin Resource Center, as well as Kerckhoff Coffeehouse.

In a statement Friday morning., UCLA Facilities Management said a high-voltage wire went offline around 7 a.m. on Friday. Ackerman Union, the Anderson School of Management, Kerckhoff Hall and the Student Activities Center were impacted by the outage, and power was restored to the buildings around 11 a.m.
The Anderson School of Management, Student Activities Center and Kerckhoff Hall appeared to be open as of 12 p.m. on Friday.
Ackerman Union reopened at 12:30 p.m.
Signs posted on the doors of Ackerman Union said Southern Lights, Jimmy’s Coffeehouse and the Music Café would remain open as normal.
