Jordan Chiles announced Wednesday on the “Today” show’s X, formerly Twitter, account that she will return to Westwood for the 2025 season.

“I am returning to UCLA to represent the Bruins for my two remaining years of college,” Chiles said to Hoda Kotb, co-anchor of the “Today” show. “You guys will see me back in Pauley (Pavilion) this season.”

The rising junior competed with the Bruins for two years before deferring the 2024 season to pursue a shot at qualifying for her second Olympic Games – leaving her with two years of NCAA eligibility.

In the qualifying rounds at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chiles placed fourth overall – trailing behind United States teammates Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee. Individually, Chiles claimed a bronze medal in the floor final – UCLA’s trademark event.

Chiles has since been stripped of her medal on the basis that the inquiry for her score change – which pushed her to a podium spot – was filed four seconds past the one-minute deadline.

She helped Team USA clinch gold in the team final, setting the stage for redemption after settling for silver at the Tokyo Olympics.

During the team final, Chiles joined seven-time Olympic champion Biles as one of two American gymnasts to compete in all four events of the team final. Team USA extended its decade-long dominance by claiming gold, winning the final by more than five points above silver medalists Italy.

At the collegiate level, Chiles earned eight combined perfect scores on bars and floor – one of which crowned her as the 2023 NCAA bars champion.

Chiles also notched an NCAA title on floor the same year – her 9.9875 led the Bruins to a postseason program record on the event. On top of her two individual titles, Chiles was the NCAA runner-up in the all-around, finishing just half a tenth away from first place.

The Vancouver, Washington, local posted the national all-around high score in 2023, notching a career-high 39.900. Her standout season earned her First Team All-Pac-12 honors and brought nine All-American honors back to Westwood.

Chiles will join 2024 Philippines Olympic team member Emma Malabuyo and 2020 Canadian Olympic team member Brooklyn Moors as the three Olympians on the Bruins’ 2025 roster.
