UCPD recorded 536 unique entries in its December daily crime log.

University police received 101 crime reports in December that resulted in active police cases.
Of the 101 crime reports resulting in cases, 23 were open cases and 78 were closed or inactive as of Jan. 14, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.
Theft and burglary was the most commonly reported category, with 42 reports resulting in police cases. Drug or controlled substance was second most common, with 23.
UCPD also recorded 435 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of Jan. 14:

Non-criminal matter: 78
Warned or advised: 20
Canceled (by any party): 45
Victim not desirous of report: 18
Referred to outside agency: 38

Of the 435 incidents not resulting in cases, seven were categorized as rape or other sex crime. UCPD categorized two events as rape reports, two as sexual battery reports and three as indecent exposure.
Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
