UCPD arrests man on several charges at Weyburn Terrace Apartments

University police arrested a 43-year-old man at UCLA Weyburn Terrace Apartments on Nov. 23 after he was found removing packages from two mailrooms.

University police arrested a 43-year-old man at UCLA Weyburn Terrace Apartments on Nov. 23 on several charges, according to a Tuesday UCPD press release.

Charles Branch, a Los Angeles resident not affiliated with UCLA, was charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia and a probation violation, according to the press release. UCPD officers arrested Branch at 12:49 p.m. on Nov. 23 while responding to a UCLA employee’s call about an individual removing packages and mail from two UCLA mailrooms.

Officers found that Branch had mail, debit cards and driver’s licenses belonging to other people, as well as narcotics, paraphernalia and a phone owned by UCLA Housing and Hospitality Services, according to the press release.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is pursuing two felony burglary charges against Branch, according to the press release.
