One of the best things Los Angeles has to offer is diverse food – and Smorgasburg is a great place to find a lot of it. In Downtown Los Angeles, Smorgasburg is a food market that will take place every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 2018.
Goa Taco offers a twist on tacos that is much greasier than traditional ones. The paratha tortilla, a hybrid between a croissant and a wheat tortilla, is rich in flavor.
Based on the interminable line in front of the cash register, Shrimp Daddy was one of the most popular vendors at the venue. They offer one main dish – Hawaiian garlic butter shrimp that comes in a pineapple boat, if you choose to pay the extra $3.
Smorgasburg has more than just food: There are lots of vintage clothing shops and trinket stands as well.
The fruity flavors of Chici Dango’s strawberry and passionfruit shaved ice were complemented with bits of mochi and popping boba.
Donut Friend offers a wide variety of unusual donuts. Pictured here is its Fudgegazi donut – a raised donut with chocolate cream, chocolate glaze and chocolate sprinkles.
Visitors can grab a vintage vinyl while they are snacking on all the delicious foods of Smorgasburg.
Workaholic Dumplings were not cheap – they were priced at $8 for a single dumpling and $20 for three. The vendor offered seven different types of dumplings, three of which are vegetarian, which come on a bed of house salad.
If you love the smell of barbecue and the site of deli meats being made, Smorgasburg is the place for you. The pork shown here was used in a sandwich from Porchetta Republic.
Lenita by Grita's flower truck was a cute, unexpected novelty vendor among the dozens of food venues at the festival.
Smorgasburg offered its own take on the all-American lemonade stand. Popdup's lemonade, featuring a drink made with a Rambutan Butterflypea base, was a sweet, quirky version of the sweet-and-sour classic.
''Hipster ghost town'' is how I'd describe the area around Schmorgasburg LA. Right outside the market, you will find lots of seating and empty storefronts.
