Various student organizations teamed up to host UCLA Pride Week last week. First-year marine biology student Chelsea Lawson and first-year English student Michelle Jaimes attended their first UCLA Pride Parade on Tuesday.

''It’s really cool to be in a place that celebrates diversity of all kinds all times of year ... June is pride month, but it’s cool that everyone is coming together and celebrating differences in February,'' said Morgan Baxter (left), first-year environmental science student.

The Academic Affairs Commission, Queer Alliance, Bruin Consent Coalition and Sexperts teamed up to host a queer sex ed workshop Tuesday following the parade.

Aurora Finley, a fourth-year English student, was one of four speakers at the workshop, where students covered topics ranging from consent to living with HIV.

They gave away free condoms, cock rings and raffled off several sex toys.

On Wednesday, students came together in the De Neve Plaza rooms for a speed-friending event.

Before the main event, students watched an introductory presentation on the definitions of self-compassion and self-love.

Students had an opportunity to write why they were worthy of self-love and collectively display the result on a wall.

Pearl, a DJ and former contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race, hosted UCLA’s Queer Prom on Friday, celebrating the end of Pride Week at UCLA.

LGBTQ students donned their best prom attire and danced the night away in a rainbow-lit Carnesale Palisades.
