Fire breaks out on balcony of Gayley Avenue apartment

Firefighters put out a fire in an apartment on Gayley on Saturday.

Fire officials extinguished the fire on the balcony of 415 Gayley Ave. around 8:21 p.m., before it could spread to other parts of the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire broke out around 8:06 p.m.

There were no reported civilian injuries, although one firefighter suffered a minor injury, said LAFD spokesperson Amy Bastman. She added the cause of the fire is under investigation.
