UCPD searches for man who attempted a Culver City apartment break in

University police are searching for a man who attempted to break into a UCLA student’s apartment near Culver City on Thursday.

The student was in his apartment on Mentone Avenue when he saw a man outside his window attempting to break in at 2:13 a.m., according a UCPD alert. When the student confronted the man, he fled west toward Keystone Avenue.

UCPD described the man as black and about 20 years old with short hair. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, according to the alert.

UCPD advises students to report suspicious activity to the police and to lock their windows and doors.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
