The Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden makes for the perfect picnic location thanks to its grassy hills, lush trees and interesting statues.

Third-year physics student Louise Tamondong and fourth-year mechanical engineering student Tanner Mastrud think the weekend is an ideal time for a picnic there because the garden is usually empty when classes aren’t in session.

Students can create a special date in this garden with a blanket, some food and a portable speaker. If your date is unfamiliar with the statues, you can walk around and observe and discuss the art after your picnic.

If you don’t have a hammock, you can borrow a hammock or blanket from A-Level of Ackerman Student Union for a maximum of three hours. You can also substitute a backpack or jacket as a pillow and lay on the grass. Either way, Janss Steps provides a scenic and relaxing atmosphere for hanging out with your date between classes.

The roofless top floor of the parking lot provides an amazing view of the city, making it an especially romantic date spot.
