Sept. 19, 2017 11:52 a.m.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power workers closed a portion of Westwood Boulevard on Tuesday morning after a water break flooded the area.

LADWP received a notification about flooding in Westwood Village at 7:44 a.m. Tuesday morning, said an LADWP spokesperson. Water flooded Westwood Boulevard from Kinross Avenue to Lindbrook Drive.

An LADWP spokesperson present at the scene said workers closed the lane and drilled into the line to make repairs. He added LADWP did not know when the waterline broke but estimated workers would repair the break by early afternoon.

Contributing reports from Jacob Preal, City and crime editor.
