Kayla Bozer, a fourth-year psychology student, wore a business casual ensemble – a beige, suede dress and brown open-toed leather sandals. She said the brown sandals are her go-to for an easy spring and summer look.
Mahala Herron-Rutland showed off her team spirit by wearing a customized Golden State Warriors jersey, which featured her last name on the back, and some DIY ripped mom jeans, she said.
The first-year undeclared student received the jersey from the basketball team as part of her Bay Area All-Star Scholarship.
Lillian Stanwick embraced the warm weather by sporting nature-inspired pieces like her floral kimono and golden bee ring. The first-year sociology student said her grandma surprised her with the kimono for her birthday.
Kafele Crear, a fourth-year history student, displayed different shades of blue in his workplace-appropriate outfit. Crear had just come from working an event at Korn Convocation Hall with guest speaker Vinton G. Cerf, one of the “fathers of the internet,” he said.
Jake Stutz showed being fashionable doesn’t have to be time-consuming. The third-year art student said he threw on a black painting coat, which he shares with his friend, while in a rush to do some painting for a project in the morning.
Stutz added splashes of color to the dark ensemble with a red beanie and red nail polish because red is his favorite color, he said.
Third-year theater student, Ayanna McKnight wore gold sunglasses that reflected the sun. While they protected her eyes, they also kept her connected with her two sisters in Chino Hills and Washington, D.C., who own the same pair of glasses, she said.
