Third-year psychology and gender studies student Leticia Morales wore a long-sleeved shirt that she said reminded her of a patterned rug. Morales paired the shirt with a denim skirt because denim matches everything, she said.
Margaret Le went for a laid-back but stylish look. The fourth-year sociology student’s outfit consisted of BDG high-waisted jeans and a cropped Adidas shirt, both from Urban Outfitters.
Le completed her look with mules from Steve Madden. She said the monochromatic outfit was inspired by streetwear.
First-year graduate library and information science student Nicole McKeon wanted her outfit to be comfortable. McKeon purchased her skirt, cardigan and shoes at Goodwill.
Fourth-year sociology student John Sanchez was inspired by ’70s “Sesame Street” aesthetics, he said. Sanchez’s outfit consisted of a sweater and a button-up, both from Goodwill, pants from a thrift store in Portland and shoes that were a Christmas gift.
Sanchez also wore Bob Ross socks that he got from a friend after playing a Bob Ross drinking game.
Nestor Guerrero said he wanted to take a risk by wearing denim on denim. The first-year undeclared social sciences student also wore a shirt from his favorite band, Crystal Castles. Guerrero incorporated Greaser aesthetics into his outfit and was also inspired by punk music, he said.
