Members of Bruins Against Sexual Harassment organized an open-mic and singing action in front of Young Research Library on Wednesday morning to protest Gabriel Piterberg, a history professor accused of sexually harassing two graduate students. BASH has held protests and actions inside and outside of Piterberg’s classroom, calling for his immediate removal from the university and a replacement for his two winter quarter classes. In an interview with the Daily Bruin Editorial Board, Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Jerry Kang said a 2014 settlement between UCLA and Piterberg limits actions the university can take.
