The crowd of protesters first gathered in front of Powell Library before beginning their march through campus and downtown.

Protesters called for students to walk out of their classes on Inauguration Day.

Many students carried ''fight racism'' and ''stop sexism'' signs to speak out against the rhetoric and policies of the Trump campaign.

The walkout was one of many protests at UCLA held in response to Trump's election. Early morning after the election, more than 1,000 students marched into Westwood in anger at the results.

The protest was one of many that occurred across the United States in response to the inauguration. Students at other UC campuses such as UC Berkeley and UC Santa Barbara also held their own protests.

Aside from a verbal confrontation with a Trump supporter, the protest remained peaceful for its duration.

Despite heavy rain pouring for much of the protest, students continued their march into Westwood.

Students flooded the streets of Westwood Boulevard, marching all the way until its intersection with Wilshire Boulevard.

Protesters occupied the intersection for about five minutes before leaving.
