Rocco’s Tavern now open after three years of negotiations

Students are now able to drink beer and cocktails at a bar and tavern that opened Dec. 8 at the corner of Gayley and Weyburn avenues.

Rocco’s Tavern, which has three other locations in the Los Angeles area, serves pizza, beer and other American-style food and drinks. Customers can also watch sports on several large televisions.

Rocco’s replaced O’Hara’s, a bar that had not changed ownership since 1994, in January 2016. Property owner Joshua Trifunovich told the Daily Bruin in January that it took three years of negotiations to acquire the space.

Trifunovich said he hoped Rocco’s would help make Westwood Village more vibrant.
