UCPD looking for man seen vandalizing fingerprint scanner

University police are searching for a man who was captured on surveillance video ripping out a fingerprint scanner from a UCLA affiliated building earlier this month.

The video shows the man vandalizing the fingerprint scanner about 7:50 p.m. on Sept. 1 at 800 Hilgard Ave, according to a UCPD alert.

Police described the man as white or Hispanic and about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with short black hair and a thin build, and about 20 to 25 years old.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.
