UCLA alumna and professional dancer Kyrra Richards initially felt ashamed of her diabetes diagnosis. However, she found ways to cope by creating Myabetic, a company that makes fashionable cases for storing medical supplies like glucose meters.

UCLA alumnus Brian L. Tan directed the film “Holdout,” which will premiere at the Crest Theater in Westwood on Friday. As a UCLA student, Tan founded the Film and Photography Society in 2006.

LaGaly said she fell in love with baking and consuming sourdough bread after a trip to Tartine Bakery in San Francisco. She now looks to the bakery's cookbook for inspiration to develop different sourdough recipes.

The Social Justice Referendum passed with 54.8 percent of the vote. Students voted to pass all four referenda on the undergraduate student government election ballot Friday. More than half of students who voted in the election supported The Green Initiative Fund referendum, the Social Justice Referendum of 2016, the #UCLAwellness Referendum and the Daily Bruin and Bruinwalk.com Referendum. The 2016 election had a voter turnout of 40.3 percent.

Bruins United secured nine of 14 seats on the next undergraduate student government council. Danny Siegel, Bruins United presidential candidate, was elected as the next USAC president with 52.2 percent of the vote.

Working at the Bruin through his entire undergraduate career since 2014, Han has won national recognition and numerous awards for his photojournalism.
