The Bruin Consent Coalition laid out pairs of jeans in Meyerhoff Park Wednesday morning as part of Denim Day, a movement that aims to encourage students to support sexual assault survivors and end victim blaming. In the 1990s, the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the woman was wearing tight jeans. Justices concluded the woman helped the rapist remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. Denim Day is a national event held in her honor.
