
Jasmin Ayala, a fourth-year anthropology student, worked 38 hours a week in Winter quarter to save up for her first Coachella.

On the first day of the festival, Ayala is looking forward to DJ duo Jack Ü Friday night in the Outdoor Theater. In the blazing Indio heat, she stayed cool in her favorite fashion item of the day: a white flower bralette from Forever 21.

Kathy Kwong, a fourth-year Statistics student, says her outfit was inspired by the presentation she had in class that day.

Kwong says her shoes portray her love for dogs.

"I really like this watch," said Kristopher Bradley, a second-year African American studies student.

"I love this shirt because my two best friends from high school have the same one. I wear it when I need a little extra strength," said Calvin Brady, a second-year theater student.

"I love my shoes, but I wear them everyday. But I guess I wear dresses every day too!" said Dana Cleavenger, a third-year sociology student.

"I get my inspiration from my Ghanian culture and from Bay Area urban style," said Giselle Leighton-Armah, a fourth-year applied mathematics student.

"My favorite color is gold because it means first place," said Leighton-Armah's after stating her necklace is handmade in Ghana.
