UCLA concrete canoe team wins ASCE regional conference

The UCLA concrete canoe team won the ASCE regional concrete canoe conference on April 1. Centering around the theme “Speakeasy,” the team designed, mixed, constructed and raced its concrete canoe to first place. Maxwell Armenta, a fourth-year civil engineering student and concrete canoe project manager, attributes this year’s success to a dedicated freshman membership and an experienced group of returners. The team will move on to nationals, taking place in early June.
