University police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a UCLA student at a party in the North Village early Friday.

The student was at a party on Gayley Avenue near Strathmore Drive about midnight when an unknown man approached her and sexually assaulted her, according to a UCPD alert. The man then left the area.

The student reported minor injuries.

UCPD could not provide a full description of the man.

No further information was immediately available. The case is still under investigation.

UCPD recommends students be aware of their surroundings, have a friend accompany them and be alert of their safety and that of their friends.

Anyone with information about this case can call UCPD at 310-825-1491.
