Marcia Mill, Berky Nelson's wife, attended the memorial Tuesday. "Berky Nelson has been my significant other for the past four years. I hit the jackpot. ... We have just had a stupendous relationship because of his kindness, his gentleness, his intellect and his foresight. We had a beautiful four years traveling together and going to UCLA basketball games. I miss him dearly of course, but his contributions live on."

Bruce Herring, Berky's fraternity brother, pays tribute to his dear friend. "Berky was indescribable, a stellar man. I met him about 15 years ago. He was my fraternity brother. I used to have dancing contests with him but he was our best dancer. I remember how fluid he was. ... He touched everyone's lives," Herring said.
