The UCLA football team has been selected to play in the Foster Farms Bowl against Nebraska on Dec. 26 in Santa Clara, bowl officials announced Sunday afternoon.

The game will be played at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, and will begin at 6:15 p.m. on ESPN.

The bowl appearance is the fourth in four years for coach Jim Mora, who began his tenure with UCLA before the 2012 season. However, Mora has still yet to lead the Bruins to a New Year’s Six bowl game.

UCLA (8-4, 5-4 Pac-12) was in a position to potentially play in the Rose Bowl before losing to USC (8-5, 6-3) on Nov. 28. That loss removed any chances for the Bruins to win the Pac-12 championship, and thus eliminated them from playing in the Rose Bowl.

The last time UCLA played in the Foster Farms Bowl was at the end of the 2011 season, when the bowl game went by a different name: the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. The Bruins lost that contest to the Illinois Fighting Illini, 20-14, in what was Rick Neuheisel’s last game as coach.
