Rising sophomore center Thomas Welsh was selected to take part in the 2015 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Championship Team training camp, the organization announced Tuesday.

Welsh is one of 10 current college athletes on the 24-man roster, and will be trying out for a chance at making the 12-man USA Basketball championship team roster.

The training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., will take place in June, with two practices per day. Cuts will begin to be made during the first week, with the reduced U.S. roster traveling to Greece later in the month for the FIBA U19 World Championship. USA Basketball’s U19 team won the world championship in 2013.

The Bruins’ 7-foot center is the tallest member on the training camp roster and, at 19 years old, is in his final year of eligibility for the team. Welsh had a team-high 1.08 blocks per game during the 2014-2015 NCAA season, adding an average of 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
