GSA recap – April 15

The Graduate Students Association is the voice of graduate students on campus. The association meets for forum every three weeks and takes positions on current issues affecting graduate students. Forum meetings are at 5:30 p.m. in the Ackerman Viewpoint Lounge.

Agenda

  • The UCLA Transportation presented a plan to increase parking fees. A yellow commuter parking pass would cost $237 for July 2015 and $243 by July 2017. The current commuter pass costs $231. The proposal also included increases for some other parking passes.
  • The GSA forum unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
  • Forum members confirmed Mohannad Ghawanmeh as the new co-director of GSA’s Melnitz Movies Program.
